At Valo, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our riders. This Privacy Policy explains which information we collect when you use the Valo app and website, how we use it and what rights you have.
Directly from you: first name, last name, phone number, email, date of birth, and payment-method details. While you use the service: location data, ride history, payment records, ratings and feedback, and support conversations. Automatically from your device: IP address, device model, OS version, app version, cookie identifiers and session information.
We use the information to match taxis, calculate fares, process payments, verify users, run safety checks, provide customer support, improve service quality and fulfil legal obligations. With your explicit consent we may also use it for promotions and special-offer communications.
Location data is essential to Valo's core service — driver matching, ETA calculation, route display and fare estimation all rely on it. We access location only while the app is open and you have started a ride flow. We do not run continuous background location tracking. You can change your location permissions in device settings at any time.
We do not store your full card number (PAN), CVV or expiry date on our servers. Payments are processed through PCI-DSS compliant third-party providers (such as iyzico). Your wallet balance and ride invoices are held by Valo.
We share information in the following situations: (a) sharing necessary to provide the service (matched drivers, payment providers, mapping infrastructure), (b) responding to lawful requests from authorities, (c) technical infrastructure providers we work with (cloud, push notifications, analytics — contractually limited in purpose). We do not sell your data to third parties for advertising.
We apply industry-standard measures to protect your data: HTTPS/TLS encrypted communication, database encryption, access controls, authentication, security logging and regular security audits. Despite all technical measures, no information transmitted over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
The Valo service is not directed at users under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will delete that data as soon as possible. If you are a parent and believe your child has registered for Valo, please contact [email protected].
